Articles
There is a lot to know about communicating via the internet, be it with websites or through email. I have summarized some of that information in the following articles. They are for the benefit of my clients who may wish to learn more.
Writing
Content is King, and by "content", I mean the site text and any relevant images. Let me re-emphasize that: CONTENT IS KING. The most beautiful website is only as good as its content.
Now, relax. You don't have to write like Shakespeare to produce good content for your website. Just decide what needs to be said, then put it into simple, concise sentences. A high school reading level is considered appropriate for web pages, as you'll find out in How Readable is My Writing.
The basic steps in creating site content are:
- Think about who will use your website and what information they will be looking for.
- Write out that information using clear and simple language.
- Review your first draft. Decide if it says what you thought it did and fix any problems.

Some people may consider the tasks described above to be burdensome, and indeed, they will require some time. However, I strongly encourage you to use the methods. I'm confident that they will help you to produce quality web content.
Plain Text
One of my first steps in developing your website will be to publish a single web page containing all of your web content in it's plain text format. Here's an article which explains why we'll use plain text as a starting point.
